Description

Description

La Calatrava - One of Palmas most interesting and attractive neighborhoods. Casa Princesa - a historic townhouse in Old Town with a unique character and in the best location within walking distance to the city center, Palma beach and direct bus to and from the airport. A unique three-story townhouse with a lovely floor plan, a stunning interior design and modern architecture in a cosmopolitan feel from the past centuries of Mallorcas history.

Casa Princesa with its façade facing Calle Calatrava and with a roof terrace, can be found in the historical documents from the 13th century, which show a smaller building that has been rebuilt over the centuries. The arched structure, the portal over the entrance to the house, is from the Moorish era when the Arabs ruled the island. Calle Calatrava is a quiet street in an attractive area, 10 minutes from the city center, with most hotels, cultural and historical buildings within a few minutes walk. Boutique Hotel Calatrava and the new hotel Es Princep, designed as one of Palmas most sophisticated hotels in terms of architecture and design and content such as food and service. A stones throw away is the Theater Municipal Xesc Forteza, Palmas Theater.

Calatravas Casa Princesa is a historic building in a historic area. It is easy to feel the presence of the century as you walk on the narrow alleys of Palmas Old Town. In this part of the city, formerly an Arabian medina, with city walls and promenades, pirates, merchants, detectives stopped and were at the same time the gateway between Africa, Europe and Turkey. History has shaped the city as we know it today, and many of the older structures carry countless dramatic anecdotes, stories, and more or less unconfirmed stories. The house has thick walls and is from the street as an impenetrable wall that creates curiosity for the visitor when entering the entrance. During the planning, the walls and the houses warehouses and storage areas were examined to take the houses history into account in the best possible way. One can imagine the many events and difficulties in the rooms to find any rationality about the houses change over time.

Room descriptions

Casa Princesa is tastefully shaped, with timeless aesthetics and design, to give the interested customer a sense of being able to plan and decorate based on their own personal style and experience. Casa Princesa is planned to be used as a residence, with a large terrace on the roof for relaxation, food, jacuzzi and sunbathing. The ceiling height is generally high and varies between the different rooms.

ENTRANCE AND TRAPPHUS - Casa Princesa's entrance is led from Calle Calatrava via the arched door and the portal from the 13th century. Through the door phone, the home can be reached for inviting guests. Well-stocked entrance with floors of terracotta tiles and tiled walls. Lighting on the walls and on the stairs creates a feeling of visual and lovely atmosphere. Heating via gas (convectors), AC for cooling and fiber for data, telecommunications and TV.

The materials are a mixture of limestone floors, dark wood wardrobes with hidden gaps and illumination of dimmed LED luminaires. Mirror over the double bed creates volume. Functional storage in high wardrobes with detailed wardrobe profiles on either side of the double bed. Each bedroom has direct contact with its own bathroom and toilet.

BATHROOM - Each bathroom is created for a modern expression with specifically selected materials, smart solutions, hidden storage and contrasting shades - from limestone floors to warm mosaic walls. Great efforts have been made to find the right mosaic, which gives the right feeling throughout the bathroom. Interior with cabinets for storage in matte wood with light porcelain. Wall-mounted toilets in porcelain type Duravit / Philip Stark. Shower wall in glass. Shower / hand basin mixer in brass of the highest quality from VOLA.

LOUNGE AND BAR - The lounge on floor two where part of the room has a sloping ceiling that gives an extra dimension to the room. The wall of the foundation is of limestone, which forms a heart wall between the bar and the social spaces. Next to the bar is a library site with seating for the home office. The living room in the central part has a gas-fired fireplace that gives an intimate and warm feeling during the darker part of the day and year.

FOOD AND KITCHEN - Plan two with dining area and lounge has an open floor plan integrated with the kitchen. In the guest toilet there is a built-in part with washing machine, dryer and sink. Ceiling beams.

TERRACE - Casa Princesa's terrace is an experience in itself overlooking parts of Old Town. An extra living room, the terrace, where you feel the light, soul and atmosphere of the city. Hit the sun during much of the day. Here you will find space for the outdoor kitchen with barbecue and sink. Room for dinners, sunbeds, jacuzzi and sun terrace for day and night experiences. The terrace is partly decorated with beautiful and modern details with close relation to the house's history. This is further accentuated by the patterned stone floor of limestone.
